# How hello.fan works for fans
From “I'd love to talk to them” to a real conversation in under a minute.

## Find someone
Browse [the directory](https://hello.fan/creators?utm_source=hello-fan.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=how&utm_content=inline) by topic, language, gender or price. A green dot means the person is online and can pick up now; their page shows prices for video, voice and chat.

## Call, book or say hello
Tap a call button and their phone rings. If they're offline, book a session on their calendar, ask them to open bookings, or send a one-line hello for 10 credits — they can answer once.

## Pay only for the conversation
Calls are paid from your credit balance and billed in 15-second steps, starting only once you're both connected. Booked sessions are paid when you book; cancel at least 24 hours ahead and you get your credits back.

## Talk across languages
Turn on CC in a call for live translated subtitles in 30 languages. Chat messages are translated too, with the original one tap away.

## Make it yours
Send a Super Hello gift with a note, add a camera effect, favourite people to get an alert when they're online again.
